Elmina Sharks attacker Benjamin Boateng is set to join Egyptian giants Al Ittihad Alexandria, according to reports in the North African country.

Boateng is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days after reportedly agreeing a deal to join Ittihad.

Al Ittihad lost two of their top strikers this season and have been forced to look for replacements, with the Elmina Sharks striker their main target.

Emmanuel Okwi and Romario Williams left the club within the course of the campaign.

The Ghanaian forward who can also play on the flanks has been in good form for Sharks this season, despite the club's struggles in the Ghana Premier League.

Meanwhile Al Ittihad Alexandria are sitting four on the Egyptian topflight table and are currently on a run of four games without defeat.

They next face Zamalek and will wont to keep their unbeaten streak.
