Published on: 12 May 2022

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez is set to hand Ghanaian-born Francis Amuzu his first international cap, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The 22-year-old is having a good campaign with the Purple and White and was the hero when they thrashed Royal Antwerp last weekend.

Amuzu bagged a hat-trick to increase his tally for the season to nine goals, attaching interest from clubs and two national teams.

Ghana have initiated moves to convince the Belgium youth international to play for the country of his birth.

However, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez sees a lot of potential in the youngster, who he feels fit into his system.

Amuzu has made 34 appearances in the Belgian League, scored nine goals and has 3 assists.

He has played for Belgium's U19 and U21 and could be set for his first international cap in June.

The winger could be part of Martinez's team for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year where the Red Devils face Croatia, Canada, and Morocco.
