Published on: 30 September 2021

Kevin Prince Boateng was born on March 6, 1987. His mother Christine Rahn is German and his father Prince Boateng is Ghanaian.

His father came to Germany as a student in 1981 and met Kevin's mother there. Both played at football clubs.

Interest in football is widespread in Kevin's family. His brother George is active in Nordberliner SC and his half-brother Jérôme was represented at several clubs such as FC Bayern and has been playing at Olympique Lyon since 2021.

In 2012 a book was even published about the brothers' passion for football.

His uncle was also a national player in Ghana, as he is now. Kevin is also related to the soccer player Helmut Rahn.

His father left him when he was one year old. His half-brother Jérôme is related to him through their common father.

The relationship between the two brothers has been difficult for a long time. Since Jérôme's conviction on 09.09.21 for assault, Kevin Prince Boateng has also publicly distanced himself from his half-brother.

Kevin was married for the first time from 2007 to 2011. At the end of 2011, he got together with American-Italian presenter Melissa Satta, whom he married in Sardinia in 2016. In 2020 the two separated. He brought a son with him from both marriages.

In addition to his playing career, Boateng is best known for his work against racism. In 2013 he was invited to Geneva by the United Nations to speak about racism and sport. In his private life he doesn't reveal much. His Twitter account mainly contains tweets about games.
