Teenager Daniel Owusu scored on his debut for FC Liefering on Friday, 23 July 2021, on the opening  day of the Austrian second-tier.

The 18-year-old climbed off the bench to score the assurance goal after 86 minutes in their 2-0 win at Kapfenberger SV.

Owusu replaced Malian midfielder Nene Dorgeles in the 76th minute.

He collected a squared pass from Elias Havel inside the box the former WAFA SC goal poacher connected home.

His countryman and former WAFA teammate Forson Amankwah was handed a starting and substituted in the 90th minute.

Owusu signed for Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg this February and spent the second half of last season at SV Horn.

There, he  managed  10 appearances but could not score.

He has been recalled by his parent club and will spend the season with Liefering, which is the second team for Salzburg.
