Ghana FA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo is confident the Black Stars will qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament irrespective of any opponent its faces in the play-offs.

Ghana will know of its opponent in January next year when the draw for the play-offs is held.

The Black Stars despite qualifying ahead of South Africa in Group G of the World Cup qualifiers were unimpressive and must be prepared to face any of the top African countries in the Pot A which has Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Nigeria.

The GFA General Secretary says the four-time Africa champions per their experience in the World Cup qualifiers will make it to the Mundial.

“We cannot be afraid of any country in the play-offs, we are Ghana,” Addo said in an interview with Akoma FM.

“We have qualified three times for the World Cup, won the Afcon four times, other countries must rather be afraid of us.  We are all hoping to be part of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

“The playoffs will be played in March 2022 and the likely countries Ghana could face might not be as strong as they are now.

“We should all have confidence in the team and surely Ghana will make it to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.”

Ghana have qualified to the World Cup on three ocassions in 2006, 2010 and 2014 but miss out on the last edition held in Russia 2018.
