Ghanaian youngster Cameron Antwi joins Telford United on a one-month loan from Blackpool

England-born Ghanaian midfielder Cameron Akwasi Antwi has joined AFC Telford United on a one-month loan deal from Championship side Blackpool FC.

The 20-year-old, born in London to Ghanaian parents, spent some time on loan at Southport in National League North last season – before the season was curtailed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Antwi returned to the Seasiders and made his senior debut in an EFL Cup defeat to Sunderland on 24 August 2021.

Antwi is the first signing of the temporary management team of Dennis Greene and Alex Mecchan.

The duo took over Telford following the exit of Gavin Cowan after a 3-0 defeat away to Darlington, which left the Bucks perilously close to the relegation zone.

The defensive midfielder joined Blackpool U18 in July 2019 after leaving Fulham.
