Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu confident team will finish in top four this season

Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu says he is expecting his team to finish well in the Ghana Premier League this season.

The Phobians failed to defend their league title following a series of poor and inconsistent results in both home and away games in the ongoing campaign.

As a result, Hearts of Oak can only aim for a top-four finish this season due to the point gap between them and league leaders Asante Kotoko.

According to coach Samuel Boadu, his team did not start the season well but is aiming to finish

“It is quite unfortunate we didn’t start the season well”, he told StarTimes.

“Getting to the end we are hoping things will get better. We are playing match after match and preparing towards the next game. At the end of the season we will be in a better position”.

Hearts of Oak are currently occupying third position on the league table with 44 points.

Meanwhile, Bechem United failed to close in on league leaders Asante Kotoko as they drew at home against Hearts of Oak on match week 28.

It was the fourth time the team has failed to win a game at home.

Speaking after the game, Bechem United head coach Kasim Mingle said, ‘It was a very competitive game and my players did not play as I expected of them. They were very sluggish in today’s game. Yes, the goalkeeper did a good job by preventing Hearts of Oak from getting another goal.

We have missed some key players in our team and those playing now would take time to gel with others. We will consolidate our second position at the end of the season, nobody will take it from us, he sounded confidently.
