Tema Youth goalkeeper and captain Christian Addai has undergone a successful surgery to correct his broken leg.

The shot stopper suffered a career-threatening injury in the Division One Super League game against Bibiani Gold Stars at the Madina AstroTurf last Friday.

Addai collided with Andrews Baidoo of  Gold Stars in the 84th minute, breaking his leg in the process and had to be rushed to the hospital.

On Wednesday, the Tema-based club confirmed the player has undergone a surgery and will be out for months.

"We're glad to bring to the notice of the general public and the sporting fraternity that our Captain Christian Addai has successfully undergone a surgery on his broken leg. Thank you all for your fervent prayers and support," wrote the club on Twitter.

The 19-year-old will be hoping to recover in time to help Tema Youth make a return to the topflight of Ghana football.
