Phil Ofosu-Ayeh: Ghanaian defender impresses as Hamstad BK win big to go top of Swedish Superettan

Published on: 20 May 2022

Ghanaian defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh continued his fine form for Hamstad BK in their 4-1 win at Oster to go top of the Swedish Superettan on Thursday.

The 30-year-old played full throttle as the visitors run riot at the Visma Arena.

The Ghanaian international has been impressive since the start of the season, showcasing immense improvement after his injury setbacks.

Ayeh, born to a Ghanaian father and a German mother, is steering Hamstad BK back to the Swedish Allsvenskan with terrific displays so far.

It's the sixth straight win for Hamstad BK - which is quite unusual - the first time since 2020 when the side finished the Superettan with nine straight wins.

The performance of the right-back has come at the right time as he could be in contention for a place in Ghana's squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
