U20 WAFU Championship: Nigeria wraps up preparations with win against host Niger

Nigeria's U-20 team wrapped up their preparations for the upcoming WAFU U20 Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win against host Niger on Wednesday.

Nigeria have been in Niger, the host country for the tournament preparing ahead of the group stage games.

The Flying Eagles played two friendlies against Niger.

The first game ended in a goalless draw and the second game ended in a 1-0 win against the hosts on Monday.

The two games serves a preparatory tests for the two teams ahead of the tournament which kicks starts on Saturday.

The flying Eagles will face Ghana on May 8, 2022 in their opening game at the Stade GSK.

Defending champions the Black Satellites arrived in Niger on Wednesday to continue with preparations ahead of their opening game against Nigeria.

Nigeria is in Group B of the tournament against rivals Ghana and Burkina Faso.

Hosts Niger play in Group A against Cote D’Ivoire, Benin Republic and Togo.
