Asante Kotoko suffered a shock 3-1 defeat to Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday. 

Cities broke the deadlock in the 17th minute from the spot when Christopher Nettey controversially brought down Jonah Attuquaye.  Michae Otuol's struck the ball into the net for the first goal.

Hans Kwofie doubled Cities' lead 10 minutes later to the shock of Kotoko fans at the stadium.

However, Kotoko midfielder Mudasiru Salifu reduced the deficit a few minutes before halftime.

After the break Hans Kwofie head it home to make it three for Cities to earn a famous victory in Kumasi.

A win for Bechem United over Karela United on Monday can reduce the point gap to five against Kotoko.

This was the second consecutive lost for Kotoko after a 2-1 loss to Real Tamale United.
