WAFU U20 Championship: Black Satellites start training ahead of must-win Burkina Faso clash

Published on: 10 May 2022

Black Satellites have begun training in preparation for their crucial game against Burkina Faso in the ongoing WAFU-B U-20 Championship.

Coach Karim Zito put the players through their paces on Monday with the team focused on bouncing back from the opening day defeat to Nigeria.

To advance from the group stages, the Satellites must defeat Burkina Faso on Saturday.

The defending champions were defeated 2-0 by Nigeria last Sunday, leaving them on the brink of a shock first round exit.

If Ghana fails to qualify for the knockout stage, they will miss the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament they won last year.

In addition, Ghana will not be represented at the FIFA U20 World Cup as Afcon serves as qualifiers for the global tournament.
