Ghana defender Alexander Djiku is suspended for next month's World Cup qualifying match against Ethiopia.

Djiku picked up his second yellow card in the series on Tuesday when Ghana beat Zimbabwe and will not be available for selection in Addis Ababa.

His absence is a big blow as he has become reliable centre-back for the Black Stars in recent times.

The Strasbourg centre-back has started all of Black Stars games in the qualifiers and boast of two clean sheets.

Jonathan Mensah and Daniel Amartey could be the Black Stars centre-back pairing for the must win match in November.

Ghana must win the game against Ethiopia as well as South Africa in November to qualify for next March's playoffs.
