Indian Premier League side Prayag United are interested in hiring Ghanaian coach Sellas Tetteh to build their youth side.

The Kolkata-based club have held preliminary talks with the Liberty Professionals technical director.

Tetteh is revered worldwide after guiding Ghana to win the 2009 FIFA World Youth Cup in Egypt- the first by an African country.

"Prayag United has spoken to Mr. Sellas Tetteh, who is a former Ghana U-20 World Cup coach about taking up the responsibility of our U-20 team,'' Club official Nabab Bhattacharya revealed.

"He is a great coach but all these things are dependent on the budget and other considerations.

"Clubs are looking towards youth development. Hence it is more important we bring good foreign coaches, who are technically brilliant," Bhattacharya continued.

"I am keeping Tetteh informed about our activities and our vision for the youth team.

"However any move is dependent on our budget for next year and I am not sure what that is going to be.

"But we shall definitely look to rope in a foreign coach for our youth team in the future."

Tetteh coached Rwanda's national team but resigned in September last year.
