Former Barcelona captain Iniesta spoke to Onda Cero from Japan, talking about the life under coronavirus in the Asian country.

On the situation of coronavirus pandemic, he said, “news spreads fast here, but still we're living with anguish and much concern”. Especially, the fact that there are more people affected in his hometown Albacete than in Japan, he admitted.

Iniesta explained that in Kobe, the city in which he has lived since his signing for the Vissel, are already considering taking a step further to leave the rate to zero. “people in Kobe have started to live a normal life as nothing had happened before.”

"The Japanese culture highlights certain attitudes that minimize contagions, such as the normal use of masks or the way to greet with others.

About his two years in Japan, he says that “as a society, it has good things and also something not so good. The virus doesn't spread as fast as it is in Spain. The most important is people should know about adaption and change.

On quarantine, he said, "the medicals are trying their best to make the efforts, and people here are all united as well, nothing is better than this if we want to overcome it.

Asked about the possibility of returning to Barca to be a board member, he points out that “I still want to continue playing football and maybe these days relaxing at home can prolong my career”.

“I have a contract until 2021 and this year I am quite motivated with the desire to play on the football pitch again and feel those moments with the ball and the grass”.
