Injured Ghanaian midfielder Nikolas Nartey nearing return to action

Ghanaian midfielder Nikolas Nartey is close to returning to action after missing time with an ankle injury.

This Wednesday, Nartey continued his training on the grass.

After suffering an ankle injury, he is still travelling alone but plans to resume team training soon.

When Nikolas Nartey suffered an ankle ligament injury a week before the cup game in Dresden, the season's preparations were well underway and the start of the season was imminent.

He was anticipated to miss three to four weeks of work. Well, after three weeks, the 22-year-old reported back to the training ground. Although he still works individually, Nartey had the ball at his feet again.

"Of course, that's a good feeling. I've been working hard on my return over the past few weeks," said the midfielder in a VfB TV interview.

The midfielder will continue his individual program in the coming days, with the goal of being on the ball with his teammates again soon - and also experiencing the atmosphere in the Mercedes-Benz Arena on the pitch again.

"The fans gave the team great support on Sunday against Leipzig. And the team did a very good job. We also had our chances,” says Nikolas Nartey.

Nartey, born in Bagsværd, is a former Denmark youth international and has not been capped by the senior team.
