China-based striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom will not travel with Ghana's squad to play Japan on 30 May in a pre-World Cup friendly.

The Jiangsu Sunning twisted his ankle  after a heavy tackle on him during last Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League.

He is in Ghana but did not train with the team as he receives treatment.

Boakye has been excluded from the squad that will leave Accra on Saturday to face the Blue Samurai in Yokohama.

He will also miss the 7 June friendly against 2018 FIFA World Cup-bound Iceland in Laugardalsvöllur (Reykjavík).
