Ghanaian centre-back Abdul Mumin was absent on Thursday as Victoria SC drew 2-2 with SC Farense in the Portuguese top-flight.
The highly-rated defender was not included in Victoria’s squad for the tight encounter due to a muscle injury.
Although it is not a serious injury, Victoria decided not to risk Mumin, allowing him to recover fully.
In his absence, Victoria took the lead but Farense came back strongly as they equalised and went in front.
The home team had a goal disallowed for offside by VAR before Victoria snatched a point in the 90th minute.
Mumin is expected back in the team for next week Wednesday's clash with Familiaco.
He has made 26 appearances this season and is gunning for a place in the Black Stars team for next year's Africa Cup of Nations.
