Esperance defender Harrison Afful is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a tendon injury during Sunday's Tunisian derby against Club Africain.

Afful called for his substitution on 15 minutes after a tackle from Africain's Alexis Mendomo and was replaced by Saber Khelifa.

He was rushed to the clinic and early test revealed a tendon injury will require some days to rest.

Afful will undergo another examination on Tuesday to ascertain the extent of the damage.

Esperance opened the scoring through Nigerian striker Michael Eneramo but Club Africain drew level through Dhaouadhi and Aouadhi gave them the lead.

But Hicheri snatched the equalizer for Esperance on the 89th minute.
