Inkoom boosted by Gabon friendly win

Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom claims his teammates' confidence of winning the Nations Cup soared after victory over co-hosts Gabon on Tuesday night.

The Ukraine-based player lasted the entire duration as the Black Stars needed a 90th minute goal to snatch a 2-1 win at the Stade Municipal in Paris.

Inkoom started as a right-back but was re-assigned as a right-winger after Sulley Muntari was pulled off due to injury.

The 21-year-old believes the Black Stars win has instilled the requisite confidence to conquer the continent next year.

"Wins give you confidence so it was important that we won, but overall the fact that we could meet here and train together for a while matters more," Inkoom said.

"We are all aware that the Nations Cup next year is important if we are to go down with a trophy. It's fundamental." Â Ã‚ Ã‚ Ã‚

Inkoom was the first choice right-back at the last edition in Angola when Ghana won silver after losing 1-0 in the final to champions Egypt. Â
