Ghana defender, Samuel Inkoom, has exclusively revealed to the 90 MINUTES Newspaper of a move that could see him join German Bundesliga side, Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Inkoom, 21, joined FC Basel a season ago and has been phenomenal for the Swiss side.

Speaking to the paper, the former Asante Kotoko defender was happy with the prospect of playing for one of the biggest sides in Europe, but stated however that he will only leave when the time is right.

“I have always said that getting the chance to play for FC Basel has always been one of my greatest joys as a professional footballer,” he told 90 MINUTES.

“I have been informed of the interest of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and I must admit I feel honoured to be chased by such a prestigeous club and recognised as one of the best right backs in this year's UEFA Champions League,” he continued.

“I know many teams have been on my trail after my impressive displays for FC Basel last season, but I am not getting carried away as I want to work hard to make a big impact with Basel in this year's Champions League,” he told the paper.
