Insults will not help us – Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara

Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has responded to growing criticism from fans, insisting that insults will not benefit the club’s progress.

Ouattara has faced pressure following a losing start to the season, with fans calling for his dismissal.

The club had to issue a press release this week dismissing reports of a five-game ultimatum, yet the Ivorian coach remains under scrutiny after a shocking defeat to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars.

Ahead of Sunday’s crucial match against Heart of Lions, which could determine his future, Ouattara expressed his concerns. "We need constructive criticism to improve, but insults will not help us," he said, hoping to rebuild the team’s confidence.

Hearts of Oak will aim to secure their first win of the season in Kpando, facing the same Heart of Lions side they defeated during pre-season in the Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup.
