Inter Allies vice captain and center back Baba Mensah made his Ghana debut in the 3-2 friendly win over Congo on Tuesday.

The Black Meteors defender received a late call up to the Black Stars team for the exhibition match to inaugurate Congo’s 60,000-capacity Stadium.

Baba warmed the bench in the first half and came on in the 63rd minute for Richmond Boakye-Yiadom who scored in the first half to give the Black Stars a 2-0 lead.

The tireless and well-built defender was shown a yellow card in the 83rd minute but stood firm to help the team to a 3-2 win in Brazzaville.

Having played for the Black Stars, Baba has now played for all the national teams (U17, U-20, U23 & Black Stars) and he’s currently with the Black Meteors.

He will return to his U-23 squad as they continue the preparations for the upcoming All African Games in Congo.
