Inter Allies breathed life into their survival campaign with a shaky 2-1 win over Liberty Professionals on Saturday in Tema.

The debutants were close to perfect in the first half where they scored the two goals through Malian import Niare Benogo and substitute Prosper Kassim.

The pair of goals were registered in four minutes with the first being a thunderous free-kick from 35-yards.

Playmaker Youssef Kabore won a free-kick and Benogo smashed in a curly one which beat goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku on 34 minutes.

By this point, Inter Allies were on top and it was not long for them double the lead.

Kassim, who had just come off the bench, profited from a wall-pass from Kabore and to lob one over on-rushing Kwaku.

The second look balanced with Liberty charged and Inter Allies taking their foot off the accelerator.

Liberty’s top striker Michael Appiah scored his fifth goal of the season by directing in the ball from a tight corner.

Appiah profited from a communication gap between goalkeeper Frank Andoh and Baba Mensah.

The ball dropped to Appiah who did well to turn in from close range.

The defeat was Liberty’s eighth on the road and will continue to remain in the foot.
