Inter could look to exchange Icardi as he is worthless, says journalist Romano

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano answered questions from Inter fans earlier today regarding their projects for the upcoming summer transfer window on Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com yesterday.

First, Romano discussed the possibility of an exchange between Inter owned forward Ivan Perisic and Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso.

“At the moment this is a possibility that Inter are considering. It is not necessarily linked to the Perisic operation because Bayern is having a moment of reflection on loan deals and signings. Meanwhile Tolisso is an opportunity that Inter is still considering.”

The transfer market expert then discussed the future of the two wing backs that arrived for Inter in January, Ashley Young and Victor Moses.

“Young will stay for another year and will extend his contract, Moses has a chance but there is to deal with Chelsea and Inter will not spend too much, for example over €10 million, for the Nigerian. Inter assess left backs like Marcos Alonso and also more offensive wingers, including Chiesa.”

Finally, Romano spoke about the future of Inter owned striker Mauro Icardi, who is currently on loan with French giants Paris Saint Germain. The Parisians have an option to buy the Argentine striker for €70 million.

“Icardi may be worth less today due to the economic crisis, this is clear. But Inter were good to renew his contract a year ago before sending him to Paris and will still have room for maneuver even including possible exchanges for him. Lautaro to Barça is another possibility that must be linked to the post-Coronavirus crisis, €111 million is not spent as easily as it could have been two months ago.”
