Inter Milan 'honsidering swap deal with Arsenal between Eriksen and Torreira

Inter Milan are looking to end Christian Eriksen's horror spell by lining up a swap deal involving Arsenal's Lucas Torreira, according to reports.

After signing from Tottenham in a £25million deal, there was plenty of expectations on Eriksen's shoulders but he has failed to live up to the hype at San Siro after struggling to adapt to Antonio Conte's philosophy.

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Torreira has struggled for game time since departing Arsenal on loan for Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

And according to Italian publication Tuttosport, Inter are now considering a swap deal between Eriksen and Torreira.

It would prove an ambitious deal considering the Dane's rivalry with Arsenal from his time at Tottenham, for whom he played 305 times for between 2013 and 2020.

The report claims that Inter are eyeing a back-up for Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, and are considering a move for the Gunners loanee.

But that may prove a tough deal to complete as Torreira will want regular game time after struggling to win the trust of Diego Simeone in the heart of Atletico's midfield.

Torreira has made just 13 appearances in all competitions this season for Simeone at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Valencia have recently shown interest in Torreira following his lack of playing time at Atletico, while the Uruguayan has also been linked with Fiorentina and Torino.

Meanwhile, Eriksen is enduring his own struggles at the San Siro, having fallen out of favour under Conte after scoring four goals and creating just four assists in his 40 appearances.

The Denmark international hasn't been able to adapt to Conte's way of thinking and his future at the San Siro appears short-lived.

Negotiations reportedly haven't begun yet between Inter and Arsenal over the potential swap deal.

However, the Italian outfit are looking to send him out on loan to the Premier League provided his new club pay his wages in full.
