'Inter should sign both Cavani and Werner if Lautaro leaves for Barca'

Pirelli chief Marco Tronchetti has advised Inter to bring in both Edinson Cavani and Timo Werner if Lautaro Martinez leaves for Barcelona.

The two forwards have been increasingly linked with Inter in recent weeks, although it appeared the Nerazzurri were treating the pair as separate targets.

Nonetheless, Tronchetti urged the club to pursue both strikers and Antonio Conte to make better use of Christian Eriksen.

“Pireli will remain linked to Inter,” he told Gr Parlamento, referring to his company’s shirt sponsorship possibly ending next year.

“We don’t know how yet, but their projects will remain ambitious with Suning.

“Conte has extraordinary ability. We’ve left the old world, but we still don’t know what the new one will be like.

“For example, we left Inter with a ‘regista’ who was supposed to change the team in Eriksen.

“Cavani’s been able to do extraordinary things and I hope he can repeat them in Nerazzurro.

“It’s clear that selling Lautaro would hurt, but with Cavani and Werner we could be stronger than with Lautaro and Icardi, especially if Eriksen returns to his Tottenham form.”
