Inzaghi: Lazio have to take advantage of Napoli’s absentees

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping to take advantage of Napoli being without many of their star players when the two meet at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday evening.

As well as Kalidou Kouliably, the Partenopei will be without captain and vice-captain Marek Hamsik, Lorenzo Insigne and Allan, which Inzaghi keen to capitalise on.

“Napoli are without important players and we have to take advantage of that,” he said at his pre-match press conference on Saturday.

“But their replacements are at a good level and, apart from Koulibaly, the others who are missing haven’t always played.

“In short, they remain a great team and with [Carlo] Ancelotti something has changed compared to under [Maurizio] Sarri, but the level is the same.”

Lazio’s results against other top sides has been a consistent disappointment for the Biancocelesti supporters, and Inzaghi admits that they need to turn their run around.

“We have to do better in these matches,” he added.

“We must get better at taking advantage of spells when we are the better team.

“In the first game against Napoli, for example, if [Francesco] Acerbi had scored rather than hitting the post in the 90th minute we would have drawn.”
