Isaac Amoako set to be named Asante Kotoko goalkeepers’ trainer

Published on: 26 April 2025

Asante Kotoko are in talks to appoint former club captain, Isaac Amoako, as their new goalkeeper coach.

The decision follows the dismissal of Najahu Issah, who worked as the goalkeeper's trainer at the club for years.

Amoako is expected to bring his vast experience and proven track record in goalkeeping development to bolster the Porcupine Warriors’ preparations for the upcoming season. Amoako is no stranger to the Kotoko faithful.

He joined the club in 2007 from BA United after an outstanding debut campaign in the Ghana Premier League, and went on to serve the Reds for a decade.

During his time at the club, he won four Ghana Premier League titles and six FA Cups, earning a reputation as one of the league’s finest and most consistent goalkeepers.

Following his retirement from football, Amoako has worked with Dreams FC, Nsoatreman FC, and Medeama SC as a goalkeepers' trainer.
