GHANASoccernet.com understands Italy-based footballer Emmanuel Harrison did not die of coronavirus.

The 49-year-old passed away on Monday after being hospitalised for 10 days at the Oglio Po Hospital in Vicomoscano, a town in the northern Italian region of Lombardia.

Report in Italy claimed he had contracted the virus while working on a forklift at a local factory, EmiliaNa Parati.

''Misinformation from people in Italy. Now, anybody who dies in these days has coronavirus,'' football agent Oliver Arthur who is related to the deceased told GHANASoccernet.com

''They've even agreed to give us the body for burial next week. That, automatically cancels Covid 19 as the course of death.''

Although Oglio Po News reported that the Ghanaian played for some amateur teams, including Maffei, where he led the attack.

Arthur adds it was nothing serious.

''He likes football and plays with some non-professional guys around. Something like workers team. For fun,'' he added.
