It’s my job to motivate the players after back-to-back defeats – Kotoko coach Ogum

Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has admitted his team's recent struggles but insists they are still in the race for the league title.

The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 2-0 defeat to Nations FC on Sunday, following a crushing loss to Accra Lions.

These back-to-back defeats have seen Kotoko drop from first to third, putting their title aspirations in jeopardy.

Speaking after the match to Globe TV, Ogum expressed frustration with his side's current form, having gone three matches without a win.

However, he remains confident and urged fans to stay supportive.

“Back-to-back defeats aren’t ideal, but as the technical team, it’s our job to motivate the players despite external pressure,” Ogum said.

“These are the same players who went on a long unbeaten run earlier. We believe we can turn this around.”

“The league isn’t over. We still have matches to play, and we’ll keep pushing,” he added.

Kotoko, now in fourth place with 47 points, will face Aduana Stars in their next fixture.
