Ivorian Ahmed Toure keen to play for Ghana

Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure says he remains keen to represent Ghana as an international.

The 23-year-old has been in top form since re-joining Asante Kotoko in January for the second half of the season.

He has caught a lot of attention with his several assists, lightening space, dribbles and five goals in the just concluded Ghana Premier League.

The former Lokoren player told Kotoko's official newspaper in April he would love to play for the Black Stars.

Toure hopes his brace against Medeama which earned them a 2-1 win in the league play-off at the Ohene Djan Stadium will convince Ghana FA Authorities about his credentials.

"I'm waiting for them. If they call me for one friendly match, I will be very happy to go and play. It's my decision," Toure said.

"I know if I go abroad, Ivory Coast can call me but myself, I want to play for Ghana."

With Ivory Coast's stellar stars in Europe, Toure has little chances of playing for the Elephants.
