Josef Emmanuel Sarpong has finally resigned as Aduana Stars head coach after a difficult start to life in Ghana Premier League.

Sarpong who was appointed only two months ago, officially tendered in his resignation on Thursday afternoon.

He threatened to quit Thursday morning after claiming his life was under threat following intense criticism from disgruntled fans.

He has followed through with his threat by leaving the club after just eight games in charge in the top-flight.

The 2010 champions have stuggled this term with an unflattering start which has not gone down well with the demanding supporters.

Assistant coach Kwabena Ameyaw will take temporary charge of the side ahead of their Premier League trip to Kumasi on Sunday.

He becomes the second coaching casualty after Dutchman Hans Van der Pluijm quit Medeama on Tuesday.
