Schlupp is Ghana's only player in SuperSport's African Team of the Year, Andre Ayew scandalously left out

Ghana defender Jeffery Schlupp is the only Ghanaian who made the SuperSport African Team of the Year while Andre Ayew was scandalously left out of the broadcaster's continental top performers.

Ghana superstar Ayew was shockingly out of the list even though he has been one of Africa's top performers in the world this year starting from his showing at the Africa Cup of Nations, with Marseille and now Swansea.

Schlupp was included following a breathtaking campaign with English league leaders Leicester City.

The versatile man has been recognised for his immense contribution to the surprise performance of the Foxes.

The Ghana international has been integral for the English table-toppers this season as they attempt a famous Premier League success.

Swansea City star Andre Ayew failed to make the team while there was no place for his brother Jordan Ayew, who is beginning to find his feet at struggling Aston Villa.

There was no place for on loan Bournemouth winger Christian Atsu as the South Africa giants broadcasting network released their top Africans stars in the Premier League.

Supersport Team of the year

Robert Kidiaba (GK), Serge Aurier, Jeffry Schlupp, Medhi Benatia, Aymen Abdennour, Victor Wanyama, Yaya Toure, Yacine Brahimi, Yannick Bolasie, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Odion Ighalo
