Black Stars defender Jerome Opoku has expressed excitement after scoring the match-winner to secure European football for Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 26-year-old netted a late winner after rebounding his own penalty to seal a 3-2 victory for Basaksehir against Kasimpasa.
The victory over Kasimpasa means Istanbul Basaksehir will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season.
"Europe. Bravo Takım! Nice to score the winner," posted an excited Opoku after the game.
The former Fulham defender has been instrumental for the club since moving to Turkey, joining them from Portuguese side Arouca. He has scored three goals and delivered two assists in 31 games for Basaksehir this season.
The England-born defender is expected to make the Black Stars squad for the upcoming Unity Cup tournament in London. Ghana will face Nigeria on May 28 at the Gtech Community Stadium in West London.
Opoku starred for the Black Stars in the 3-0 victory over Madagascar in March during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
