Joe Tagoe has no confidence in the Togbe led Hearts of Oak

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Joe Tagoe has blasted the top hierarchy of the club, insisting the Togbe led administration can't help the club.

The Phobians have not won a major trophy for over a decade, leading to criticisms from former players and some former management members.

"I don't see him helping Hearts of oak. I've not got close to him much but from afar, he's not helping," he told Ashaiman TV.

"I remember during my days with Hearts, When the season is over, we go to his house for party. We eat and take some alcohol, that is, those who can take it.

"We did a lot of things which didn't help us when we were playing, so we don't want the young generation to fall victims. We didn't know alcohol wasn't good for players, we fell victim to it.

"After eating in his house, they will just drive u to Circle, without T&T. Sometimes, some of the players will not have even 1 cedi on them to further their journey back home. We ask ourselves, what's the motive of going to see Togbe then? ," he quizzed.

The diminutive midfielder, affectionately called 'Bobby Short' believes management of the club are not united front, hence the lack of direction for the club.

"The managements of Hearts of oak are not good in terms of managing a club. At first, when playing football, your first motive is to play for Hearts or Kotoko," said Tagoe.

'We have learnt our lessons now and we wouldn't want the next generation to fall victim. I'll not advice young players who come to me for advise to play for Hearts. What I'll tell you will let you run from Hearts.

"I expect them to invite some of us who speak ill against the club on Tv or radio, sit us down, and will know why we are saying that.

"They always want to be the best or one of the best clubs in Africa, but behind the scene, what goes on is not good at all," he concluded.
