Striker Joel Fameyeh scored the only goal as Orenburg started their campaign in the second-tier with a 1-0 win over Dinamo Briansk on Saturday.
The Ghana youth international found the back of the net in the 59th minute to seal the points on the road.
Femeyeh was handed a starting role and replaced after 82 minutes at the at the Dynamo Stadium.
Last season, the former Asokwa Deportivo marksman managed seven goals in 23 appearances in the top-flight.
That was his maiden season after switching from Belarusian side Dinamo Brest.
FC Orenburg were evicted from the Russian Premier League and have made a bright start to return to the top.
