Ghana defender John Boye is worried Stade Rennes would suffer the consequences of his red card.

Rennes are in deep crisis in their defensive department as Chris Mavinga, Nigerian Apam Onyekachi, Jean Kana-Biyik and former captain Ghana John Mensah are all out with injury.

Boye was the only natural defender left for Federic Antonetti's side but the 24-year-old got sent off in last Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Valenciennes.

This leaves Antonetti with fielding makeshift defenders for their home game against Ajaccio next Saturday and that leaves Boye concerned.

"It is very hard because I'm the only central defender left fit and now this has happened," he told Ghanasoccernet.com.

Boye has scored twice in 24 Ligue 1 games for Rennes this season.
