Ghana captain John Mensah has recovered from a hamstring injury and ready for his action in the French Ligue 1, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The Lyon centre-back picked up the injury during ahead of the start of the new season but has since returned to training.

Mensah sat out this month's double-decker against Swaziland and Brazil and the opening games of the French campaign.

He played for the Lyon youth team this weekend to test his fitness level.

"I am happy to be back, I am doing extremely well by the grace," Mensah told his personal website Johntherock5.com.

"My coach has asked me to play alongside with our junior side for 45 minutes, and I can say it’s been good, I started training this week and my recovery rate has been excellent. Thank God," he added.

If he stays fit, he should be available for the Black Stars in next month's final Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan and a friendly in London against Nigeria.
