Kuala Lumpur: The West Asian Football Federation Championship is set to take place at the end of July, with Jordan and Bahrain releasing their preliminary squad lists.
Jordan will be seeking their first regional title after three runners-up finishes in 2002, 2008 and 2014 and will be looking to continue their impressive run in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 last January, where they advanced to the knockout stage undefeated before losing to Vietnam on penalties in the Round of 16.
Musa Al Taamari, who opened the scoring against Syria in UAE 2019, and goalkeeper Amer Shafi are absent from the squad announced, but Bahaa Abdelrahman, Hamah Al Dardour, Abdallah Al Attar and Khalil Bani Atiyah are in head coach Vital Borkelman’s list of 31 players.
