Ghana forward Jordan Ayew found the perfect time to open his scoring account for Crystal Palace as they shocked Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 at Molineux.

Despite the pre-match hype about the hosts impressive form, it was Palace who dominated the early minutes of the match and nearly went ahead through Andros Townsend.

Palace kept piling pressure on Wolves, and Ayew, who registered just a single shot on target in 2018, produced a composed finish with three minutes remaining to edge his side towards victory in a tightly-contest affair.

Roy Hodgson’s men sealed the victory after Luka Milivojevic emphatically dispatched a penalty with the last kick of the game.

The win helped Eagles consolidate their 14th position on the standings with 22 points after 21 games, four more than Newcastle United who lost 2-0 against the resurgent Manchester United at the St. James’ Park on Tuesday.
