Jordan Ayew has revealed that his late teammate Christian Atsu was the best player he has played with, ahead of Ghanaian icons Asamoah Gyan and his own brother Andre Ayew.
Ayew and Atsu represented the Black Stars together for nearly a decade, with Atsu making his debut in 2012.
Atsu's standout performance in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named Player of the tournament and scored twice, left a lasting impression on Ayew.
"To be honest, I'll go for Atsu. He deserves a lot of credit and plaudits for what he has done in his career," Ayew told Joy Sports.
Ayew acknowledged the talent of his brother Andre and Asamoah Gyan, but felt that Atsu's achievements were often underrated.
"People don't talk much about him, but he was a really top player," he added. By choosing Atsu as his best teammate, Ayew has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend and teammate.
