Jordan Ayew says leading Black Stars was meant to happen

Newly appointed Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew believes his leadership role was destined to happen.

In an interview with Joy Sports, Ayew expressed his thoughts on being named captain, saying: "I believe in destiny. I believe [becoming Ghana captain] was probably written in the stars."

Ayew's appointment as captain marks a significant milestone in his career, following in the footsteps of his brother Andre Ayew and father Abedi Pele.

With over 100 caps for the Black Stars since his debut in 2010, Ayew has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the team.

As he prepares to lead the team in their upcoming international matches in March, including World Cup qualifiers, Ayew is aware of the responsibility that comes with the captain's armband.

He takes over from his brother Andre Ayew, with Thomas Partey having deputised in his absence.

Ayew's leadership will be put to the test as Ghana seeks to bounce back from a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

With his experience and dedication to the team, Ayew is poised to make a positive impact as captain of the Black Stars.
