Jordan Ayew still in Black Stars plans

Ghana assistant coach Kwesi Appiah has hailed the qualities of youngster Jordan Ayew and insists he is not been overlooked by his boss.

The decision of Serbian trainer Goran Stevanovic to leave out the 18-year-old for Tuesday’s international friendly against Gabon has been heavily criticized.

The third son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has been in good form for French giants Marseille this season where he has shown his goal scoring prowess.

Ayew last played for Ghana during an international friendly against Brazil in London and that has not gone down well with some fans.

"I have said on countless occasions that Jordan is a fantastic player and so we should not create unnecessary buzz over the decision of the coach to leave him out," Appiah said.

"He is young and the coach has got the opportunity to assess him on few occasions. He started in the game against Brazil and all that.

"The point is that he knows his qualities already and so he want to give chance to other players to also impress or otherwise."

"He's not been axed from the team in anyway and so please let be patient and allow the coach to operate. That’s why we employed him."
