Jordan Henderson believes that Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Man City is 'not the end of the world' for the Reds and that they are very much still in the title race.
A win on Sunday would've seen Liverpool leapfrog Man City in the Premier League table, while the draw means they remain one point behind with just seven games to go.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Henderson reflected on his side's performance and claimed their chances are still alive.
"It was an intense game which we knew that it would be," he said. "We knew that it would be tough coming here [Etihad Stadium], they're a fantastic team but wanted to give it everything and try and get the win. Unfortunately we couldn't do that but, at the same time, we didn't lose the game.
"Of course we wanted to do better, but at the end of the day it's not the end of the world, we're still in the [Premier League title] race."
He continued: "We started the game ok but we were a little bit hectic at times, clearing the ball rather than playing out. That gave them one or two chances early on which is why they got the goal. We knew that were going to be under pressure early on, like I said they're a fantastic team, and we knew they'd come out fast.
"But after that goal I felt like we settled it down a bit and started playing football more and I think that caused them one or two problems and that was how we got our goal.
"It was pleasing how we came back twice, that shows a lot of character."
When asked if the draw was a better result for Man City than Liverpool, Henderson added: "We'll have to wait and see. They don't drop many points, but we just have to concentrate on ourselves and try to win as many games as possible and if they do slip up we've got to be there right behind them."
