Jordi Alba: Without fans, lots of things are going to change

Jordi Alba believes players will have to be extra careful with their fitness when the season resumes.

LaLiga are planning to play the remaining 11 fixtures of the Spanish season in the space of just over a month, with Barcelona also down to play in the Champions League in August.

"I know what I can control and what my teammates can," Alba told El Hormiguero.

"We'll have to go with a lot of caution."

Matches will also be played behind closed doors - an idea Alba is still getting used to.

"The feeling is that we want to play, but without fans, lots of things are going to change," he said.

"You're taking away so much."

In order to comply with health and safety protocols, certain changes will have to be made to football.

"If you spit, you could get a yellow card," Alba said.

"We've seen it in the Bundesliga and they don't hug each other, they barely even celebrate. It's a bummer.

"We're seeing how we can control it now."

The Barcelona defender also discussed his time in lockdown, and about what he's been eating at home in particular.

"I'm going crazy over Cuban style rice," he said.

"I like prawns with oats but saying it's my favourite... I'm going to have to have a word with people on the internet."
