Jose Mourinho's appointment as new coach of AS Roma starting next season will benefit Ghanaian kid Felix Ohene Gyan.

The Portuguese, who will replace countryman Paulo Fonseca at the end of the season, has a track record of working with African talent at every stage in his career.

Ohene Gyan has been making waves in Roma U19 squad and could be given a look by Mourinho who loves to work with players from the continent.

The 18-year-old has scored two goals in three starts in the Primavera Championship for the Giallorossi and tipped for greatness.

According to club president Dan Friedkin and vice-president Ryan Friedkin: ''The appointment of José is a huge step in building a long-term and consistent winning culture throughout the club.''

This could open opportunities for Ohene Gyan to come through from the club's academy side to play top-tier football.

Mourinho previously work with Ex-South Africa international Benni McCarthy at Porto where they both won the UEFA Champions League.

At Chelsea, he signed the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel and Salomon Kalou.

During his successful spell at Inter Milan, Mourinho signed Sulley Muntari and also gave opportunities to McDonald Mariga.

When Mourinho landed at Manchester United, he signed a relative unknown Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
