Relieved Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and the fans for their unfettered support in his side's first league win of the season.

Kwame Boateng’s 73rd minute strike broke the virginity of the game and handed the troubled manager his first win of the season and a difficult start in the season.

The joyous looking Duncan acknowledged the difficulties the team went through in their opening four matches but says he is grateful to his creator for the win against Hasaacas.

"First of all I am grateful to the Almighty God for granting my first win of the season. It has been difficult but eventually we have had it and must be thankful to him for blessing us with this win,” Duncan said.

“I must also commend the fans that have been with us through all these difficult times. I looked at them standing in the rain to cheer the team for this victory and I dedicate this victory to them,” he added.

The manager however lauded his boys for fighting to the end to earn their first win of the season.

“The boys also deserve some commendation for being resilient in the game and determined to win their first game which eventually they had."

“But I doff my hut for the fans for their splendid show of support and sportsmanship. This win is surely for them,” he concluded.
