Jurgen Klopp: It 'would be a masterpiece' if Liverpool could find overnight solution to poor form

Jurgen Klopp has admitted it will be tough to find an immediate solution to Liverpool's dramatic dip in form after their latest loss at Anfield.

A shock 1-0 defeat to Fulham leaves the Reds four points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea having played a game more.

Visiting midfielder Harrison Reed claimed his side wanted it more and Klopp did not contest that as he tried to dissect why things went so wrong yet again.

'The winner's always right; my boys wanted it,' Klopp told Sky Sports.

'Wanted it more? It's easy to judge. They have won it so they wanted it more. But I don't think that's a problem.

'For sure it's confidence for us, we never had momentum in the season in the Premier League really, and you can see that.

'It's still in the boys there, they have it all, but at the moment they can't show it.

'It would be a masterpiece to find out how we change that overnight. But luckily we have a different competition in three days, and hopefully we can show a different face.'

Seven alterations were made from the starting XI that were defeated by Chelsea at Anfield on Thursday, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane were thrown in as Klopp searched in vain for goals.

The German alluded to tiredness in the camp when asked about why today's line-up looked so drastically different.

'We had to make changes today because some of the players were just not able to go again (after the Chelsea game).

'I don't have to stand here and say we are fighting for this or that. We have enough to do just fighting for three points.

'It's not about a proper target now, we have to win football games and that's what we'll try to do. It's a tough one to take for all of us.'

Liverpool will look to recover at home against RB Leipzig on Wednesday with the prize of a Champions League quarter-final place within reach after a 2-0 victory in the first leg.

Despite their lead, the Premier League champions' Anfield jitters will mean that what would have felt like a straightforward game last season is anything but on this occasion.
