German-Ghanaian youngster Justin Diehl is edging closer to a full return following his muscle injury, as VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß provided an optimistic update during Friday’s press conference.

The 19-year-old forward has taken significant strides in his rehabilitation, participating in team warmups for the first time since his setback.

“I don’t want to give an exact timeline because you’ll always be measured on it, but it looks good,” Hoeneß remarked, tempering expectations while emphasizing the progress Diehl has made.

The coach explained that while Diehl still has a few rehabilitation steps to complete before being fully integrated into training, the leap back to the squad is within reach. “I don’t think it will take a long time for us to see him fully in training, but he still needs the rehabilitation steps to be well prepared for training,” Hoeneß added.

The manager expressed confidence in the young attacker’s recovery, noting that Diehl has taken “a good step closer” to reclaiming a meaningful role in the team.
